Phil Smith
SR Paramedic / FAAW Instructor

Phil having previously worked for St Johns Ambulance, joined the East of England Ambulance Service in 1998.  He is now a State Registered Paramedic.  He is part of the training team for instructing Community Responders & is a popular instructor of ours, bringing his personal paramedic stories as well as adding fun to his professional style of training.


 

Jenny Tyler
Ambulance Technician/ FAAW Instructor

Jenny has worked in Emergency Care for six years. She has recently begun instructing courses for First Aid plus and is very enthusiastic about transferring her clinical skills and knowledge to others. Her laid back, informative and humorous approach to both teaching and First Aid is popular and reassuring. Jenny has a long history of working in community care and is well aware of the challenges and continuing changing ways of this area of care. She is able to relate all of her sessions to real life situations through either her Emergency or Community care work. A Mum of 3, she also has a good understanding and knowledge of children's care, illness and common accidents
.


David Mortimer
Ex Military Instructor /Team Medic/ Close Protection Team Leader for HM forces (Army)/Royal Military Police

David has served operations in Baghdad, Kuwait, Sierra Leone etc. He has experienced High-Risk Operational appointments world-wide & has provided Close Protection to British Ambassadors & the British Royal Family etc. David's teaching reputation is such that our clients ask for him personally having experienced his training!

Paul Schofield
London Ambulance Paramedic/Firefighter

Paul is a State Registered Paramedic based at Heathrow & seconded to the Hillingdon Rapid Response Car. He is CBRN trained & is a training supervisor  & trained in Vulnerable Adult & Child Protection!  Paul is also involved in the Junior Citizen Project teaching children about Health & Safety, this is an Inter Agency Project with Police, Fire Brigade & Schools.


Laura Bower
Training Co-ordinator

Laura is one of our new training co-ordinators.  Having worked in Dubai, Laura returned to the UK where she further advanced her office skills. Laura is extremely approachable & always willing help our clients & candidates in any way, to maintain the first class service that First Aid Plus provides.



Mei Wise
Finance  & Training Co-ordinator

Mei (May) has been with First Aid Plus from the very beginning. She has many years of HR experience, having worked in the city. Mei has been an important part of developing the company & has built a professional & approachable relationship with our clients, instructors & candidates

Karen Winter
Director/Instructor/State Registered Paramedic

Karen is Director of First Aid Plus Ltd, which is Approved by the HSE. Karen has worked for the East of England Ambulance & Paramedic Service since 1990. She has also worked as a Paramedic in the film industry working on movies such as James Bond, & Harry Potter. Karen has worked & lived in Australia & spent some time working for the United Nations in Hong Kong. Karen is renowned for her fun courses & hand on teaching methods & is able to share her real life experiences.


WHAT DO OUR PARAMEDICS DO WHEN NOT TRAINING?

RACE FOR LIFE

What do our instructors do on their day off? Cycle from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Palace, a total of 38 miles!   All in aid of carity for the Prince's trust 'Race for Life'.  Phil & some of our other Paramedic colleagues have been training hard for the race in September 2007.  They have raised over £500!


DREAMFLIGHT
